The Taj Mahal is considered the most beautiful building in the world and remains as one of the world’s most celebrated structures and a symbol of India’s rich history. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan , to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died whilst giving birth to their 14th child. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 42-acre complex made of ivory-white marble on the interior and exterior, the interior chamber of the Taj Mahal reaches far beyond traditional decorative elements as the inlay work is of precious and semiprecious gemstones. The Taj Mahal which means "Crown of the Palaces” is located on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra.

I visited The Taj Mahal and India back in 2010 with my parents, the memories will last a lifetime, it really is the most amazing place!
