Accommodation Review: Lodge on Loch Lomond

Our wedding night was spent at The Lodge on Loch Lomond, a unique hotel located on the beachfront at the pretty conservation village of Luss which is situated on the western shore of Loch Lomond, which is just a 30 minute drive from Glasgow.

The hotel has leisure facilities, conference rooms and is an award winning wedding venue. There are also activities on the water such as exhilarating speedboat trips or luxurious yacht cruises and wakeboarding or canoe safaris which the hotel can organise.

There are a range of 48 guest bedrooms all with loch views. Our wedding party had various rooms, from the Glen Luss which has forest views with a slice of loch view (prices start at £150 pn) which had a modern colour scheme and comfortable beds, to the Classic Grahams rooms which had large windows facing the loch, these rooms had a more intimate cosy vibe with wooden panelling (prices from £190 pn). We stayed in the Deluxe Corbett (£190 pn) which had the luxury of our own sauna and a lovely private balcony which had panoramic views out onto the loch.

You are welcomed on arrival into the reception area by the friendly receptionists and there are warm and charming vibes with a gorgeous stone fireplace. The hotel is dominated by Colquhoun’s Restaurant and Lounge. The bar area is the perfect place to relax on comfy sofas and another large open fireplace. The restaurant which serves dinner, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea has floor to ceiling windows which look directly out onto the loch, no matter the weather outside, this is the perfect spot for admiring the tranquil views.

From the hotel you can take a short leisurely stroll either across the beach or through the pretty village of Luss with its gorgeous cottages, romantic church which is complete with Viking burials, and cosy cafes and tourist shops. Take a walk out to the pier and gaze across the loch to the eastern shores and spot the famous Ben Lomond mountain.

From the pier you can also take a boat trip on board Beau Jangles which is a gorgeous yacht that can take you on a cruise around the loch. We actually got married on board Beau Jangles so can highly recommend it, not just for weddings but for any occasion. Book here
