NZ day 2 Wellington

After a comfy sleep at the Lazy Shag hostel we boarded the bus and drove 3 hours to Picton where we caught the ferry. Leaving the South island and heading to the North island for a week or so.

The views of the Marlborough Sounds were amazing- so Shannon said- I spent the whole ferry journey in the cinema watching 'The Help'. It was as great as the book and I'm so glad I finally got to watch it.

So we docked in Wellington and made our way to Nomads hostel, went a look around, we never got a chance to see too much, but we have a lovely view of the fancy Wellington town hall from our bunk beds. We got a free small dinner at the hostel or we could pay $7 to go large and have beer so we done that and sampled our first NZ beer 'Macs'. Our Korean room mates were very keen to talk to us so we shared our travel stories for hours....

We will be coming back to the nations capital later in the trip and will have more time to sightsee then.
